Aberdeen put some dismal pre-season form behind them to more than hold their own against a resurgent Rangers side at Pittodrie at the weekend, winning our SPL performance of the week award. With both Rangers and Celtic already having dropped points this term it's again clear that the Old Firm won't have it all their own way, especially on the road, this season. 

The SPL and the SFL have extended their transfer windows by 24 hours in light of the original deadline day falling on a Sunday. P&B will be running a special window watch service on Mon Sept 1st as we gear up for all the latest last minute transfer moves.

Hamilton keep up their impressive start to SPL life by recording a superb 1-0 win over Inverness Caley at the Tulloch stadium. Accies remain top of the pile, with only themselves and Rangers thus far boasting 100% records.

We're not quite sure what is going on at St.Johnstone but for the second week running we're awarding our Performance of the Week to a team who comprehensively dismantled the Saintees. Partick Thistle's impressive start to the season continued as they routed the Perth side by four goals to nil at Firhill. 

Dunfermline take the plaudits this week for their fantastic demolition of first division title favourites St.Johnstone at McDiarmid park. The Pars ran out three goal winners and look in great shape to mount a title campaign of their own this season.
